long time silence. :)
I stumbled across my usual issue, I can't focus long time on one project, so my "Kirov" is at hold at the moment. (Also because I want to be more creative and design my own things).
After updating some of my old stuff (Drone & Gunship, mainly poly optimisation) I stumbled across KaranaKs Maelstrom and the creating article. And this article helped me A LOT (So THANKS KaranaK).

The process of splitting a big project up into several modules working at them and then re-assemble it helps me a lot. (As my brian works very... strange^^)
Also it allows me to use this modules on different ships (yes it will be a space ship for the Space Gothic Universe).

So I startet on a new project with this in mind and created module by module and so far it works out nice.

I will post some results soon, so be prepared. :)

So a few month went by, unfortunalty some troubles came up, why my Space Gothic project is on hold.

But good news also came up :)

I aimimng for starting my study at 3D Animation and Game Art soon (tm)

In the meantime I worked a lot on my Kirov Project, realising that this is a much bigger project then I though before...

But I will keep working on it...
Ok, my first journal entry....

I got the chance to help out an old friend on some fan-based Space Gothic Stuff, so I had to set all my other project on hold for the moment.
(Why have a day only 24 hours and why I have to sleep...)

At the moment I design and model a few things (mainly space ships) for my friends webside. (Also use my old Gunship design for it^^)

For the one at you who don't know Space Gothic (I think a lot^^), it's a Pen & Paper RPG, set in the near future (23. Century), which base mood is about horror and treachery.
Mankind finally conquered the stars and is alone, as soon as you believe what the PR people of the Vatikan and PTI say.

There are three main powers in this universe,
- PTI a megacon who also rules the area around earth (30 lightyears)
- Shark Industries, also a megacon, but it was defeated during a large scale interplanetary war, so now the remaining members fight a undergroudn rebellion
- Crusaders, the SpaceMarine Order of the catholic church, they controll the area beyond the 30 lightyeard border

There are a lot of other factions as well, most of them themed after ancient real world empires (Samurai, Wulfs of Mhadi, Roman Empire) or big criminal organisations (Yakuza, Mafia etc.)


The important part at designing the ships is that they should reflect the faction they belong to and should be no simple copies of already existing ships.
The whole design should be a little bit retro (like Firefly).
While the PTI ships are the Top-Tech Ships, Shark were once Top-Tech, but are now more or less Patchwork-Vessels and the Crusader Ships should be bulk and reflect the european medival times.

I making some progress at a few ships at the moment, but unfortunately nothing is in a state where I want to show it... yet.
So give me a few days more and I will post the first renders of some PTI and Crusader ships.
